Unanimous adoption of the Resolution on declaration of 2021 as International Year of Peace and Trust proposed by Turkmenistan by the member states at the 73rd session of the United Nations General Assembly indicates big requirement of this initiative of President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov.

Turkmenistan pursues foreign policy based on the principles of positive neutrality, peace-loving, open doors, good neighbourliness and equal beneficial cooperation with all interested foreign partners. Developing fruitful relations on the government level, our country demonstrates invariable commitment to constructive dialog in multilateral format.

Being a priority direction of social and economic policy and strategic resources of Turkmen society, the development of culture is in the centre of attention of Turkmen leader as it closely connected with the formation of public awareness especially among the youth.

Integrated development of educational system, bringing of it to new level are the main vectors of the state policy of Turkmenistan. In this context, special importance is paid to the reform of high school, which is to become an efficient source of professionals for different branches of national economy.

At video conference session with the representative of the Government on December 17, President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov focused on the importance of business profile forums of international level, which are held regularly in our country.

The International Ministerial Conference on the development of transport and transit cooperation that took place at the Congress Hall of Avaza National Tourist Zone on 28 November attracted great attention of the foreign mass media that highlighted the tremendous importance of the Lapis Lazuli (Afghanistan–Turkmenistan–Azerbaijan–Georgia–Turkey) multimodal transport and transit corridor that aims to revive the Great Silk Road in a new format.

Working visit of President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov to Sochi, the Russian Federation on August 15, where he had an informal meeting with President Vladimir Putin, has confirmed the commitment of two countries to traditional relations of friendship and good neighbourliness, mutual intent to continue consolidating constructive interstate dialog that meets the goals of common wealth.

Turkmenistan provides comprehensive support for peace and wealth of our southern neighbour, Afghanistan. President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov is confident that exclusively political and diplomatic, trade, economic and humanitarian mechanism have to be used for this. It finds practical implementation in certain activities of our country aimed at support of stabilization processes in Afghanistan, stimulation of the growth of its economy and launch of new industrial, transport and investment projects through the involvement to the system of regional relations.

The system of intellectual property of Turkmenistan is 25 years old. At present, the state regulation of the protection of intellectual property is performed by the State Service if Intellectual Property of the Ministry of Finances and Economy following the Resolution of President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov from March 1, 2013.

During extended session of the Cabinet of Ministers, President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov signed the Resolution approving the plan of reception of the students to the universities of Turkmenistan in Ashgabat and Ahal Velayat in 2018 as well as the plan of reception of students to secondary vocational education institutions in 2018.
