The important seasonal agricultural campaign – cotton harvesting – is now gathering momentum. Every day thousands of tons of ‘white gold’ are delivered to the cotton-receiving centers all over the country.

During the examination of the new polymer plant in Kiyanly, President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov visited the end product packaging workshop that will produce seven types of polyethylene and five types of polypropylene by introducing various additives and fillers into the polymer material at high temperature.

President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov attended the opening ceremony of the Kiyanly Gas Chemical Complex for production of polyethylene and polypropylene to press the button that launched the production process and to examine technological processes.

All efforts of cotton harvest campaign in Lebap Velayat are aimed to finish it as soon as possible. Timely agricultural activities on 120,000 hectares of cotton fields, sowing of the most adapted cotton species as Yoloten 7, S-2606, Ash-37 allowed farmers growing good yield of this valuable agricultural crop. The farmers of Lebap velayat plan to deliver 300,000 tons of raw cotton to the state.

At extended session of the Government on October 12, Vice-premier M. Meredov reported on realization of the Programme of development of oil and gas industry until 2030 and outcomes of work of the sector under his supervision for the past nine months.

The Ministry of Industry fulfilled production plan by 114.4 percent for nine months of 2018, at the same time, the growth rate was increased by 112.9 percent comparing with the same period of the last year.

By the outcomes of nine months of 2018, the growth rate of the GDP is observed on 6.2 percent level including 4.2 percent n industrial sector, 0.6 percent in construction, 10.8 percent in transport and communication complex, 7.6 percent in trade, 4.9 percent in agriculture and 10.6 percent in service sphere.

At the extended session of the Government on October 12, Vice-premier M. Chakiyev informed that the plan of communication services, cargo and passenger transportation was fulfilled by 108.8 percent for three quarters of 2018 with the growth rate of 113.2 percent.

Agreement between the Ministry of Energy of Turkmenistan and the Ministry of Energy and Water Resources of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan on the project of Turkmenistan – Afghanistan – Pakistan (TAP) power line was signed in Ashgabat.
