The entrepreneurs from Russia, UAE, Afghanistan and Hong Kong purchases polypropylene and base oil produced by Turkmenbashy Refinery Complex for foreign currency.

The President of Turkmenistan issued the Resolution authorizing the Ministry of Agriculture and Water Resources of Turkmenistan to sign contracts with foreign companies for the purchase of chemicals and sprayers.

During his working trip to Mary Welayat, President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov got familiarized with the construction of a combined steam-gas power plant. Power capacity of the plant is 1574 MW, and it is being constructed by the order of the State Power Corporation “Turkmenenergo” on the premises of Mary HPP.

President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdymuhamedov held a working meeting in the International Airport in the city of Turkmenbashi, with participation of Vice Premier in charge of transport and communications, industry, oil and gas and governor of Balkan welayat.

President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov visited Turkmanbashy International seaport, which is currently under construction. The Head of the State met the specialists and workers involved in construction, familiarized eith the course of works, technical capabilities of the project, samples of the equipment provided for the port.

The President of Turkmenistan inspects the progress of construction work at the gas chemical complex, which is designed to process natural gas and produce polyethylene and polypropylene. The specialists of the complex reported to the President of Turkmenistan on the progress of installation works, familiarizing the Turkmen leader with the operational characteristics and capacities of the enterprise, which is scheduled to be put into operation in September, 2018.

President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov inspected the situation in the construction of carbamide plant in Garabogaz, Turkmenbashy etrap. The Head of the State reviewed main workshops of the enterprise, met with the representatives of the customer and contractor of the project, expressed the interest in financing of the construction, compliance to the schedules of equipment supplies and construction works, future export of carbamide fertilizers.

By the results of 2016, production of agricultural and food products in private sector of Turkmen economy increased for 68 percent comparing with 2015.

The year of 2016 has demonstrated the effectiveness of work of agro-industrial complex of Turkmenistan. Harvested wheat crop amounted to 1 million 604.5 thousand tons, cotton delivery obligations have been fulfilled in the amount of 1 million 71 thousand tons. In comparison with 2015, amount of harvested rice has almost doubled, potatoes – increased by more than 30 percent, melons –by 13.6 percent.

In the past 2016, the GDP of Turkmenistan has grown by 6.2 percent. In the industrial sector, this figure increased by 1.2 percent, in construction – by 4.4 percent, in transport and communications sector – by 10.5 percent, in trade - by 14.3 percent, in agriculture – by 11.6 percent and in services – by 10 percent.
