Master of Sports, Coach of sport school of Gurbansoltan-eje district, Dashoguz Region Gulnabat Kadyrova has brought three medals to collection of Turkmenistan’s team.

Two silver medals, in clean and jerk and in total, were won by Turkmen weightlifter Maksat Meredov at Asian Championship in Tashkent. 21-year old student of Turkmen State Institute of Physical Culture and Sports, foster of the school of the highest sport skill had this success in the weight category up to 73 kg with personal record of 336 kg (snatch – 147, clean and jerk – 189).

Performance of Turkmen swimmers at the Open Championship of Uzbekistan, which was held in Tashkent on April 12 – 17, resulted in 7 various medals and 5 national records.

Sportsmen of Turkmenistan National Football Team will have three remaining qualification matches of 2020 World Cup in the Republic of Korea. This decision has been taken by the Asian Football Confederation.

In accordance with a Resolution of the President of Turkmenistan, the Ministry of Sport and Youth Policy has been authorized to hold the Davis Cup event (which was previously due to take place on June 8-15, 2020) at the Tennis Complex, Ashgabat Olympic Park on September 6-12, 2021 in collaboration with the Tennis Federation of Turkmenistan and the International Tennis Federation.

In his address to President of Turkmenistan, President of the National Olympic Committee of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, President of the Olympic Council of Asia Sheikh Ahmed Al-Fahad Al-Ahmed Al-Jaber Al-Sabah congratulated the Turkmen leader on the upcoming 25th anniversary of neutrality of Turkmenistan and noted that the Olympic Council of Asia accepted the proposal of Turkmenistan to host the General Assembly of Olympic Commission of Asia in 2023-2025 and the sessions of the OCA Executive Committee.

It was informed at the session of the Government that preparation to the World Track Cycling Championship in 2021 is carried out in Turkmenistan. According to the Resolution of the President, composition of organization committee has been established and approved. The utmost objectives of preparation and conduct of coming competitions on high level have been discussed at the session.

Turkmenistan’s Motor Sport Championships in Volkicar-drift and team Volkicar disciplines and carting, which were organized in honor of the 25th anniversary of the country’s neutrality, took place.
