Power engineers from Turkmenistan are working on increasing power supply to Afghanistan. At present, according to the previously signed contract, the neighboring country annually receives 700 million kilowatt hours of electric energy through two electric power lines, Ymamnazar–Andkhoy and Serhetabat–Herat–Torghundi. Furthermore, it is planned to work together to supply energy to Badghis and Jowzjan provinces. As is known, for this purpose, an Agreement was signed on 3 July 2017 between the Ministry of Energy of Turkmenistan and the Ministry of Energy and Water of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan. Currently, based on relevant documents and reached agreements, targeted measures are being taken to further increase electricity export to Afghanistan.
