According to commissions of President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov with a view of perfection of administrative-territorial division of the country the Mejlis of Turkmenistan together with representatives of khyakimliks of Lebap velayat, its cities and etraps and also the related ministries and departments carried out analysis of economic efficiency of arrangement of etraps and cities, expediency of their integration. For the purpose of perfection of the administrative-territorial division of Lebap velayat according to modern requirements, realisations of proposals on incorporation of some etraps and cities, restoration of their historical names and considering representation of the Cabinet of Ministers of Turkmenistan, according to the Law of Turkmenistan «On the procedure of the decision of issues of the administrative-territorial structure of Turkmenistan» the Mejlis of Turkmenistan has decided: 1. 143852 hectares of land from Dovletli etrap should be transferred to the administrative territory of Khojambaz etrap. 2. To change the status of cities with the rights of etraps Magdanly and Seydi, having given them the category of cities in the etrap and to transfer the city of Magdanly, its geneshliks Chardzhev and Yurekdepe to Koytendag etrap, the city of Seydi, its geneshliks Gabakly and Isbaz – to Galkynysh etrap. 3. Village Tolekguyi of geneshlik Tallymerjen of Dovletli etrap to transfer Galkynysh geneshlik of Khojambaz etrap. 4. To give the category of settlements to village Gushchular of Gushchular geneshlik of Serdarabat etrap and to transfer to the administrative unit of settlement Gushchular villages Darganly, Garavul, Markush, Orazaly, Ulyvahym, Yangyaryk. 5. To abolish below-mentioned etraps, having transferred their administrative territories and administrative and territorial units to corresponding etraps: 1) Etrap named Beyik Turkmenbashi – to Dovletli etrap; 2) Etrap named Garashsyzlyk – to Galkynysh etrap; 3) Garabekevul etrap – to Khalach etrap; 4) Sakar etrap – Sayat etrap. 6. To rename the following etraps, cities and settlements: 1) Atamyrat etrap and the city of Atamyrat, having given them names accordingly – Kerki etrap and the city of Kerki; 2) Birata etrap and the city of Birata, having given them names accordingly – Darganata etrap and the city of Darganata; 3) Galkynysh etrap and the city of Galkynysh, having given them names accordingly – Danev etrap and the city of Danev; 4) Serdarabat etrap – to Chardzhev etrap; 5) Settlement Gushchular of Chardzhev etrap - to settlement Chardzhev; 6) Settlement Niyazov of Danev etrap – to settlement Garashsyzlyk. 7. To bring respective alterations and additions in the list of administrative and territorial units of Turkmenistan, the Mejlis of Turkmenistan approved by the decision of May 10, 2010. 8. To the state committee for preservation of the environment and land resources together with the khyakimlik of Lebap velayat to make the description of administrative-territorial borders of the velayat in an established order. . 9.
