In January-November, 2017, the GDP growth rate in Turkmenistan made up 6.5 percent. The GDP growth rate increased by 5.8 percent in the production sector, by 1.4 percent – in the construction sector, by 10.9 percent - in the transport and communications sector, by 9.6 percent in the trade industry, by 5.1 percent – in the agricultural sector, by 8.9 percent in the sphere of services. As compared with the same period of 2016, the growth in the production industry achieved 6.4 percent. In January-November, the volume of retail trade turnover grew by 18 percent as compared with the same period in 2016. The prices for consumer goods, as well as the ariffs for services rendered to the population increased by 9.4 percent compared to December, 2016. 78.9 percent of budget funds were allocated for the development of the social sphere in the reporting period. The average monthly wage for large and medium-sized enterprises in the country is 8.9 percent higher as compared to the same period of 2016.
