Last week, the first meeting of the OCA Coordination Committee was held in the Turkmen capital to discuss regular stages of preparations for the upcoming V Asian Indoor and Martial Arts Games to be held in Ashgabat in 2017. Representatives of the National Olympic Council of Turkmenistan, State Sports Committee of Turkmenistan, Executive and Organizing Committee of the V Asian Indoor and Martial Arts Games-2017, including heads of ministries, sectoral agencies, who are responsible for the preparations and organization of the Games also participated in the meeting, held in the would-be Olympic Complex, capable of accommodating 8,500 sportsmen. In the course of the meeting, foreign experts, who had acquainted with the construction progress of the Olympic Complex facilities (many of which are practically ready for operation) the day before, expressed admiration for the pace of construction and dimensions of the sports complex, which is one of a kind in the Central Asian region. It has the most comfortable conditions provided not only for athletes and spectators, but also for the work of many other specialists engaged in the field of sports and servicing of competitions. In accordance with the meeting agenda, the participants considered the issues related to operation of sports facilities of the Olympic Complex and their maintenance, organization of regular training for volunteers, who should meet main requirements such as an excellent command of foreign languages, rendering of high-quality Internet services, preparation of Turkmen sportsmen for the upcoming complex competitions, and many others. The issues of organizing a regular meeting of the OCA General Assembly in Ashgabat to sum up the first results of the preliminary stage of preparations for the V Asian Indoor and Martial Arts Games were also given consideration.
