The harvesting campaign in the Amu Darya valley is under completion. John Deere and Claas combines that proved themselves in the Lebap fields and fully justified their high-quality characteristics this season. Wheat has been harvested on more than 140,000 hectares of 157,000 hectares sown with grain this season. Since the beginning of the harvesting campaign, the grain-growers of the eastern region have delivered more than 200,000 tons of wheat to the receiving points in the country. Grain farmers in the northern region - the Darganata etrap have fulfilled their contractual obligations by more than 90 percent. The farmers of the three peasant associations - Vatan, Turkmenistan and Magtymguly in the Darganata etrap were the first in the velayat to fulfill their obligations and continue the harvesting campaign. Grain growers in the Chardzhev and Farab etraps rank among the leaders of the Lebap Velayat harvesting campaign. Upon completion of the grain harvesting campaign, more than 10,000 hectares of fields in Lebap Velayat will be sown with rice. This year Lebap Velayat is planning to deliver 50,000 tons of ‘pearl grain’ to the receiving points in the country.
