Honoured Coach of Turkmenistan Orif Bukharakov has been re-elected for another four-year period to the post the Vice-president of the World Cabaddi Federation at the congress of this organization in Dubai (UAE). Besides the election of the management of the Federation, subjects of development of cabaddi and popularization of this sports in the world have been discussed at the congress. Organization of the cabaddi tournament under 2018 Summer Asian Games has been reviewed. Representative of the Olympic Committee of Asia took part in the forum for this purpose. The World Cabaddi federation was founded in 2004 and unites national teams from all over the world, which develops such ancient sport as the cabaddi. Being the founder and chairman of Handmundo Martial Arts Federation of Turkmenistan (includes several sports together with the cabaddi), O. Bukharkov was at the beginning of development of this discipline in the country. champions and cup tournaments are regularly held among various age categories. National team has already participated in big international tournaments. The Head of Turkmen Federation is regularly invited as the referee in such big tournaments as the Asian Games. He will also be the member of referee team in coming Asian Games in Jakarta. Cabaddi is a team game that was founded in India. It has centuries-old history being one of the oldest game in Asia. The sport, popular in Asian part of the continent, is actively developed in other regions of the world. International cabaddi tournament are regularly held. The discipline is included in the programme of Summer Olympic Games.
