The Embassy of Turkmenistan in Ukraine participated in the fifth Outlook World Culture Festival, a festival that celebrates a multitude of cultures from across the globe, which took place at the Mystetskyi Arsenal National Cultural and Art Complex in Kiev on October 27. A theme of the presentation, prepared by our country’s diplomatic mission, was very reflective of this year designated as “Turkmenistan - the Heart of the Silk Road”. Ukraine’s first lady Marina Poroshenko, who was a guest of honor at the festival, became acquainted with our country’s national display stand and exhibits, showcasing the rich diversity of the Turkmen nation’s culture and traditions. The festival annually runs an OUTLOOK project in the field of cultural diplomacy. The current event, organized with the assistance of the Ukrainian Cultural Foundation, featured national traditions and art from 35 countries. The festival program included over 20 thematic presentations organized by embassies. Not only did visitors have the chance to talk with representatives of different nations, they also learnt about their spiritual heritage, cultural traditions, music, arts and crafts, traced the history of national costumes and sampled the best dishes. The aim of the festival is to strengthen friendly relations between nations, boost international humanitarian cooperation and raise the awareness of Ukrainians about diverse cultures of various nations across the world.
