Women started the contest for the medals of the World Weightlifting Championship in the weight category of 76 kg. The main contest was between titled athletes Jong Sim Rim (the People’s Democratic Republic of Korea) and Zhouyu Wang (China). After two attempts, representative of the PDRK took over her opponent by one kg, having lifted 119 kg. the third attempt did not bring any luck two both sportswomen and Jong Sim Rim kept the leadership. Patricia Barrera from Ecuador was the third with junior record of 117 kg. In the clean-and-jerk, the athlete from the People’s Republic of China took her revenge. The sportswoman from North Korea kept the leadership until final third attempt but slipped up lifting 153 kg while Zhouyu Wang managed the weight of 152 kg, having won the gold in this discipline and in total. Jung Sim Rim added two silver medals to the gold in the snatch. Leidy Arboleda from Columbia took the bronze. Patricia Barrera became the third in total, having set two junior records in the in the clean-and-jerk 146 kg and in total 259 kg. PRC National team takes the lead in total medal count. On the eighth day of the competitions, the winners in women 81 and men 102 weight categories will be defined.
