The I Winter International Sport Games “Children of Asia” are continued in Russian Federation. Figure skating girls have started the contest for medals. Sportswomen of Turkmenistan national team Ayna Ekeeva, the 8th grade school student of Ashgabat school No. 64 and Larisa Vahitova, the 7th grade school student of school No. 37 of the capital have presented their short programmes. The sportswomen were divided into six groups. L. Vahitova was in the second group while A. Ekeeva in the third. Referee team from Poland, Slovakia, Estonia and Russian Federation was chaired by referee Alexander Kogan from Russia. control of performance of technical elements in this sports was made by professionals representing France, Finland and Russia. Larisa Vahitova got 16, 82 points for technical performance and 16, 34 points for artistic presentation. Our girl is on the fourth place in total count in short programme with final 33.16 points. Ayna Ekeeva is on the 12th position in intermediate count (19,97 points). We hope that the girls will successfully perform in free programme on February 15 even though the competition of international sport games in Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk and they are facing tough contest. More experienced representative of Russian Federation, the country that has rich and old traditions in this discipline and brought up number of the world stars – the world and Olympic champions, are confidently leading in the competitions. Turkmenistan ice-hockey team had its third match in the Group on February 13. The team of Ural Federal District (Russia), which is leading in B Group, was the opponent of our sportsmen. In the result, Russian team was the winner of group round. Having deservingly playing in all three matches, our team did not take high positions in the tournament, however, meeting with strong opponents, received great playing practice, which would be irreplaceable for participation of different international tournaments in future. The hockey players from Turkmenistan, the country where the snow is an exotic, are in the beginning of long complicated way. More matches they will have against the teams that have impressive training school and coaches, sooner the trophies will start to come. More boys will start going to hockey training sections in order to defend the Motherland the world at ice arenas.
