Last sets of medals in alpine skiing, biathlon and ice-hockey have been contested in the final day of the I international Winter Sport Games “Children of Asia”. Sportsmen representing Ural Federal District of Russia were the first in total team medal count. Their countrymen from Moscow were the second while the hosts of the tournament – girls and boys from Sakhalin Region were the third. Later in the evening, Spartak Stadium of Yuzhno- Sakhalinsk hosted the official closing ceremony of the Children of Asia Games where Governor of Sakhalin Region Valery Limarenko and first Deputy of the Chairman of the State Duma Committee for physical training, sports, tourism and youth affairs Vyacheslav Fetisov took part. Modern artists from Sakhalin, original traditional folk bands, talented young singers took part in effective show, which lasted for 70 minutes. Grandiose firework, which lit up the sky of Sakhalin, has marked official closing of winter games. Turkmenistan was represented in ice-hockey and figure skating at the I International Sport Games Children of Asia. For eight days of competitions, our sportsmen have proven by hard training and performance at the ice fields of Arena City and Crystal Sport Complexes that Turkmen sports is steadily developed and is not far from the day when Turkmen athletes will compete on equal terms with experienced opponents and make deserving competition at international games.
