President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov signed the Resolution on production of rice in Turkmenistan in 2019. According to the document, the Ministry of Agriculture and Natural Protection, administrations of Dashoguz and Lebap velayats are assigned to provide high production of rice in S. Turkmenbashy etrap, Dashoguz Velayat as well as in Daganata, Dyanew, Charjew, Farab, Sayat, Halach, Hojambaz, Kery, Dovletly and Koytendag etraps of Lebap Velayat. 18,300 hectares of land are planned to be sowed with rice in these velayats and to produce 82,400 tons of rice.
