Welcoming the progressive development of the Turkmen-Kazakh constructive dialogue in the political, diplomatic, trade, economic, cultural-humanitarian spheres, the Turkmen leader made special emphasis on the importance of expanding the established productive cooperation for the benefit of the entire region. In particular, special consideration was given to unleashing all the partnership-favored potential in such strategic sector, as transport, the two countries attach priority significance to. An illustrative example of successful partnership in that field is the Kazakhstan-Turkmenistan-Iran transnational railway constructed by the friendly countries and which is recognized as a central link in the international transport corridor “North-South”. During the meeting, Chairman of the “Kazakhstan Temir Zholy” Joint-Stock Company’s Administrative Board submitted for consideration by President Gurbanguly Berdymuhamedov the projects meant for promoting fast-track development of the regional transport-logistic sphere, which, in turn, would motivate and intensify transit flows and volumes of freight traffic in the Trans-Caspian and North-South directions, as well as would invest in building of a regular logistic service system. According to the preliminary estimates, given the trade relations intensification in the region, already by 2020, the freight traffic in the Kazakhstan-Turkmenistan-Iran new line can reach 15 million tons. This, in turn, would enable to earn the transit-produced incomes, turn to advantage the joint activity, thus enhancing financial stability of the project member-countries’ economies and ensuring a good way to getting exposure to the Persian Gulf ports and the perspective Indian market. Of no less importance is the freight traffic development project with the use of the Lianyungang Port (the People’s Republic of China) possibilities and in the light of the prospects for considerable increase of transit traffic from China through the North-South and West-East transport corridors. The meeting was attended by Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Kazakhstan in Turkmenistan Orman Nurbaev.
