Last week, a delegation headed by Special Representative of the OSCE Parliamentary Assembly for Central Asia Mr. Thierry Mariani was received in Mejlis of Turkmenistan. Members of the delegation of the authoritative international organization were introduced to the most important aspects of the legal reform, in which special accent is placed on the implementation of generally accepted international rules in the national legislation. Noting that Turkmenistan and the OSCE attach great importance to further development of fruitful partnership, the meeting participants have spoken in favor of strengthening the effective cooperation, including in developing the parliamentary institutions. The program of the visit to Turkmenistan envisaged the participation of members of the delegation in a seminar entitled “OSCE Parliamentary Assembly: mandate, principles of work and topical issues”, as well as a meeting in the National Red Crescent Society of Turkmenistan.
