According to the calendar of activities for well-organized preparation of the upcoming elections (to be held on August 16), setting up of election commissions has started in cities, etraps, settlements and gengeshliks. At meetings of the primary organizations of the Democratic Party of Turkmenistan, the Party of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs, the Agrarian Party, public organizations and associations of Turkmenistan, as well as groups of citizens the worthiest candidates are being nominated for the elections, and also nominations of several contenders are being considered. In accordance with the Election Code, from now on the Agrarian party has the right to nominate its candidates both for the membership in the elections commission, and Gengesh. The election campaign will be held in accordance with the Election Code of Turkmenistan, which reflects all the main aspects of this process, given the priorities of state policy, and the most significant tasks of the country’s socio-economic development at the modern stage. At the same time, the age-old democratic traditions of the Turkmen people, which are the basis for the reform policy in the new historical period, initiated and steadily pursued by President Gurbanguly Berdymuhamedov, will also find their worthy continuation in the campaign.
