The “Ashgabat-Derweze-Ashgabat” marathon, co-organized by the State Sports Committee of Turkmenistan, the Ministry of Health and Medical Industry of the country, and the National Motor Sport Center, ended in the capital. Driver Muhammet Kurbanov and his teammate Serdar Aidogdyev have become winners of the first national motor marathon. The crews of Didar Orazmetov-Kurban Danatarov and Merdan Toiliev-Aidyn Mamedov are second- and third-place winners. All the winners were presented with certificates of merit and valuable gifts. The route of the rally ran off-the-road – through sands and dunes, each kilometer was a challenge for the participants. It is difficult to control a vehicle, driving at high speed in the sands of the desert – Central Karakum, however all the sportsmen coped with the task successfully. The best of them won awards. Following the marathon, teams will be formed in the National Motor Sport Center to take part in international rally.
