A scientific and practical conference dedicated to the 26th anniversary of manat introduction was held in Ashgabat. Heads and specialists of state and joint-stock commercial banks, ministries and departments, university professors and students of higher educational institutions, as well as students of a specialized banking school attended the conference. Those speaking during the conference presented the reports on the history of the monetary circulation of Turkmenistan, the development of this system over the years of independence, accurate statistics and credit activities of banks as factors of economic growth, the improvement of relevant legislation, the strengthening of cooperation with authoritative regional and international financial institutions, etc. As noted, consistent work is carried out to create a modern banking transfer system using IT technologies, to increase lending and household deposits. Much attention is paid to the financial reporting of banks in accordance with international standards. The reports on the measures taken to improve the quality of services provided and to reach a new level of service, as well as to improve the skills of employees were presented during the conference. Particular emphasis was placed on work to enhance cooperation with the International Monetary Fund (IMF), the World Bank, the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD), the Asian Development Bank (ADB), the Islamic Development Bank (IDB), etc. Those speaking emphasized that the implementation of investment policy contributed to the stable growth of macroeconomic indicators, the development of the manufacturing sector of the economy, and the expansion of capacities for the processing of fuel and raw materials. In accordance with the Programme for the Social and Economic Development of Turkmenistan for 2019-2025, the state provides all-round support to the private sector - an important element of the national economic model. As a result of the taken measures, the national currency - manat – actively operates in a modern electronic format. The use of Altyn Asyr bank cards, as well as the services of the Visa and MasterCard international payment systems, has opened a new stage in the development of money circulation. Conference participants focused on the importance of organizing and conducting information campaigns for investors in order to clarify the benefits of new banking products and services. Legislative acts regulating banking activities are updated in accordance with the international standards. New modern bank offices are opened their financial, material and technical base is improved, and the workforce capacity is strengthened through training courses and forums organized in the country and abroad. Within the framework of the forum, a thematic exhibition was organized.
