Turkmen athletes have won two silver medals at the X “Kinder Surprise” International Acrobatics Tournament among juniors under 16, held in the city of Mogilev (Republic of Belarus). Our compatriots took second place on the medal podium in group events of two and four. The group of four young Turkmen athletes: Ahmed Nazargulyev, Gairat Hojakov, Karlen Grigoryan and Amirjan Arutunyan were second only to representatives of the host team. Notably, in the final, our acrobats performed as well as the Belarusian team. However, in the close contest judges gave preference to the home team. Thus, the pupils of Honored Coach of Turkmenistan Irina Kruglikova conceded less than a point to their opponents, having won silver medals. In the pair events, a duet from Ashgabat Hezret Shirgulyev and Vladimir Kostyaev achieved success. This time, pupils of Chief Coach of the national acrobatics team of Turkmenistan Natalia Rejepova managed to take the lead over Belarusian athletes, who took third place. Unfortunately, our team lost less than a point to the team of the Republic of Moldova in the final. The Turkmen duet had already won medals at international junior tournaments before. Among them are gold medals which they won in Switzerland in 2011. The result of a Turkmen duet – Guncha Kakaeva and Jeren Iolieva is worth mentioning as well. They completed their performance only one step away from medals, taking fourth place. Winners and prize-winners of the European championship, including strong acrobats from Germany and other countries contested in this group. Our athletes performed well, competing with renowned opponents, having taken the lead over many of them, including the host team.
