The Ministry of Finance and Economy of Turkmenistan hosted the ceremony of signing the Memorandum of Understanding on strategic partnership between the Ministry and Swiss company ""SICPA SA"" - a world leader in the field of marking with protected characters. The document aims to promote the development of the digital economy in Turkmenistan, which was identified by President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov as a priority task. Expanding the use of various electronic systems and information networks, including in such areas as trade and taxation, prevention of smuggling, will also contribute to the integration of our country into the world financial and trade relations, strengthening its image as a conscientious and competitive partner. Given that ""SICPA SA"" has developed an innovative solution for tracking various types of food and industrial products, the Ministry of Finance and Economy of our country has expressed interest in cooperation on safe authentication, control of production volumes and monitor of the flow of goods imported and exported by Turkmenistan. A delegation of the abovementioned company headed by Philippe Amon - Chairman of the Board and CEO of SICPA SA arrived in Ashgabat to sign the Memorandum and discuss the prospects of partnership. During the talks, the sides confirmed their willingness for an open and confidential dialogue to provide the market with high-quality and high-tech marking solutions that will protect both buyers and the trade network of the country from counterfeit products. This collaboration will also enhance technological capabilities to increase business transparency, fight corruption and illicit trafficking and support legislative initiatives in the area of the computerization of public administration. Strategic partnership with one of the world leaders in the field of protective marking will allow mastering and introducing modern technologies in Turkmenistan, which will become the basis for the formation of a new digital ""environment of trust"" for business relations and development of the digital economy.
