Second session of Turkmen – Astrakhan Joint Council for Entrepreneurship (TAJCE) was held in video conference format today. Representatives of the Minsitry of Industry and Construction Production, Ministry of textile Industry as well as Foreign Ministry, Trade and Industrial Chamber, Türkmendeňizderýaýollary Agency, Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs took part in the event from Turkmen side. Russian side was represented by the Ministers of Industrial and Natural Resources as well as Ministry of Agriculture and Fishing Industry of Astrakhan Region, Head of International Relations Agency of Astrakhan Region, Director of “Olya” Commercial Seaport JSC, President of the Union “Astrakhan Trade and Commerce Chamber, personnel of the Foreign Ministry of Russian Federation. The members of the Council stated with delight high level and growing dynamics of cooperation, which is successfully developed under Turkmen – Russian interstate dialog built on the principles of strategic partnership. Turkmenistan is one of the main partners of Astrakhan Region in Caspian Sea basin. Our economies supplements each other, - Co-chairman of the Council, Minister of Industry and Natural Resources of Astrakhan Region Denis Afanasyev assured in his speech. During online meeting, the sides discussed logistic capabilities of Astrakhan Port as well as organizational issues of automobile ferry communication between Caspian Ports of Turkmenbashy (Turkmenistan) and Olya (Astrakhan Region, Russian Federation), promotion of agricultural producers, organization of supplies of non-ore materials and Turkmen textile to Astrakhan Region, establishment of direct contacts between representatives of Turkmen and Russian business. In particular, the sides agreed to take measures for increment of trade by activation of sea transportation including by arrangement of regular automobile ferry communication between Turkmenbashy and Olya ports for delivery of cargo. In this aspect, importance of coordinated work of profile ministries and departments of Turkmenistan and Astrakhan Region, Russian Federation has been highlighted. Turkmen – Astrakhan Joint Council for Entrepreneurship has been established according to the Memorandum between Trade and Industrial Chamber of Turkmenistan and the Government of Astrakhan Region (Russian Federation), which was signed by the outcomes of the 11th session of Intergovernmental Turkmen – Russian Commission for Economic Cooperation in Ashgabat in May 2019. The first meeting of the members of the Council was held last year under the first Caspian Economic Forum.
