The Ministry of Finances and Economy held video conference session with participants of the 7thAsian – Pacific Sustainable Development Forum organized by the UN Economic and Social Commission for Asia and Pacific (UNESCAP). Results of work carried out since the last session, definition f important directions of realization of 2030 Global Sustainable Development Agenda were among the main subjects. New approaches to enhancement of joint activity of member states of the region have been proposed. It was highlighted that science, technologies and innovations play important role in combating of COVID-19 pandemic and in solution of complex ecological problems. The necessity of strengthening of scientific cooperation in the region between the UNESCAP members has been noted. Having given high appraisal to active position of Turkmenistan in the world arena, the participants of the forum highlighted the currency of initiatives proposed by President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov aimed at development of the dialog, which is built on the principles of transparency, trust and taking into account the interests of partners. On May 21, representatives of Turkmenistan will take part in the 76th session of the UN Economic and Social Commission for Asia and Pacific, where support to economic, social and ecological cooperation for sustainable development until 2030 will be discussed.
