President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov had a telephone conversation with Chairman of the Federal Council of the Federal Assembly of Russian Federation Valentina Matvienko. The Speaker of the Upper Chamber of Russian Parliament cordially congratulated Turkmen leader on his birthday, having wished health, longevity and new outstanding success in his large-scale activity on the highest government post. Having expressed gratitude for congratulation and good words, the Head of Turkmenistan highlighted that our country is connected with Russian Federation by century-old historical relations, rich practice of cooperation in various spheres. At current stage, interstate relations, which are built on the principles of equal rights, mutual respect, trust and strategic partnership, receive new content that meets long-term interests of two friendly nations. Continuing the conversation, the sides noted steadfast character of Turkmen – Russian dialog, in strengthening of important role of which important role is given to inter-parliamentary contacts, which are effective tool for exchange of practice in law-making activity. Positive dynamics is inherent to bilateral cooperation in trade and economic, cultural and humanitarian and other spheres.
