The International Monetary Fund arranged online presentation ""Prospects for development of regional economy: the Middle East and Central Asia"" at the Ministry of Finance and Economy. Among the top priorities, IMF representatives specified provision of leading industries with sufficient resources and ensuring proper focus of support programmes. In the near future, it is necessary to take decisive steps to preserve jobs, provide liquidity to companies and households, protect the poor and create carefully drafted action plan for economic recovery. At the same time, IMF representatives underlined the importance to address urgent problems, ensure progressive development while maintaining macroeconomic stability. In this context, it should be noted the importance of the Plan of operational socio-economic measures in Turkmenistan to counter the coronavirus pandemic, approved by the Resolution of President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov.
