“I cordially congratulate you on the Constitution Day and the State Flag Day - a significant date widely and solemnly celebrated in an atmosphere of high spiritual uplift! I am sure that the events organized in honor of this holiday in the year, held under the motto "Turkmenistan is the Motherland of Peace and Trust", will inspire our people to great achievements!", President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov underlined in his congratulatory address.

According to the President of Turkmenistan, the Constitution is the unshakable legal basis of independence and permanent neutrality, and the State Flag with the patterns of Turkmen carpets, olive branches as a symbol of peace, five stars and a crescent, reflecting our unity, are the property of the nation.

“We successfully implement grandiose programmes, socio-economic and socio-political reforms in the name of the prosperous life of our native people, the transformation of Turkmenistan into one of the developed countries of the world, as well as building a democratic and just society. We consistently improve our Constitution in accordance with the stage of development of society and the state, as well as the requirements of the time.

“The constitutional reforms implemented in our country are aimed at ensuring the prosperity of the country and the well-being of the people. With the establishment of the bicameral system of the Milli Gengesh of Turkmenistan, a new stage has started in the life of our independent neutral state.

“Within the framework of comprehensive reforms aimed at supporting the national interests of the sovereign Turkmen state, we, using the advanced achievements of science and technology, best world practice, demonstrate an exemplary approach in the construction of modern cities, towns and villages, educational and healthcare institutions, hotels, large industrial clusters, autobahns and transnational gas pipeline Turkmenistan-Afghanistan-Pakistan-India. All this further increases the world authority of the democratic and secular Turkmen state as a country of prosperity.

“Guided by the main provisions and goals of positive neutrality, the permanent status of which is recognized by the world community and enshrined in our Constitution, we consistently raise the prestige of the Motherland as a sovereign state promoting the principles of peacefulness and good neighborliness. In addition, we expand the political, economic and cultural cooperation with such leading international structures as the United Nations, the European Union, the Commonwealth of Independent States, the Shanghai Cooperation Organization, the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe, the Non-Aligned Movement, the Organization of Islamic Cooperation, as well as with other countries.

“The adoption of the Resolution "2021 - International Year of Peace and Trust" at the 73rd session of the General Assembly of the United Nations testifies to the recognition of our efforts in the name of strengthening peace and friendship by the world community. Our great goal for the future is the comprehensive strengthening of the positions of the sovereign Motherland - a democratically developed, legal and secular state,” the President of Turkmenistan underlined in his Address.

In conclusion, President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov wished the Turkmen people good health, prosperous and happy life, and great success in their work.
