Turkmen farmers have achieved remarkable success the year marking the milestone of 30 years of our country’s independence. They have grown good wheat crops this year working towards the tasks of increasing the country’s economic potential, achieving food self-sufficiency and boosting agricultural productivity specified by President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov.

On June 20, six etraps reported to President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov on the successful fulfillment of their contractual obligations for grain production.

Wheat producers in Ak Bugdai etrap, Akhal velayat are top performers in the harvest campaign. This season, more than 62, 550 tons have been produced in the area that was the birthplace of the famed Turkmen wheat.

Geoktepe etrap, Akhal velayat has already harvested 21,500-plus tons of grain.

Wheat growers in Akhal velayat, like in the other regions, were fully and properly prepared for the harvesting operations. Mobile crews are providing day-to-day maintenance services to combine operators, while keeping them plentifully supplied with everything needed – fuel, lubricants, and spare parts for agri-machinery.

Lebap velayat grain growers have also achieved impressive results. Koitendag etrap farmers have met their contractual obligations, having produced 17,600-plus tons of wheat. Hojambaz etrap wheat producers have already harvested more than 21,200 tons.

The harvesting operations are also progressing rapidly in daikhan associations in Mary velayat. Tahtabazar and Iolotan etraps have reached their wheat production targets, having produced by now 17,300-plus tons and 25,200-plus tons of high-quality wheat respectively.

Through the efforts of President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov targeted at higher levels of agricultural mechanization, new farming equipment has replenished the country’s agri-machinery fleet in the last few years. This allowed farmers to speed up the agri-campaign and to ensure the effective, timely and loss-free harvesting operations.
