Today, in accordance with the instructions of the President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, the farmers of Dashoguz velayat started the cotton harvesting, where with consideration to the local soil-climatic conditions the “white gold” harvesting period is launched later than in other regions of our country.

On the eve of launching of an important agricultural campaign the working meeting was held in the khakimlik of velayat, in the course of which the tasks on the organized carrying out of harvesting, accurate and coordinated functioning of all concerned services were discussed.

The cotton field in the north region of our country covers 155 thousand hectares, where from it is planned to gather 275 thousand ton of “white gold”. The velayat farmers have grew the medium staple species of cotton such as «Dashoguz-120», «Dashohuz-114», «Gubadag-3», «С-4727», «Jeyhun», «149Ф» and etc.

The advanced machinery will provide the smooth rate of field work. During the harvesting period hundreds of "John Deere” high-production combines and other machinery will be used, fleet of which was increased with new equipment for recent years.

About two thousand of trucks and tractors with trailers will be mobilized for the cotton transportation. The receiving points and cotton gin plants of the Production Association «Daşoguzpagta» are completely prepared for day-and-night service.

The specialists of the Main State Service “Turkmenstandartlary” perform a quality control of the raw cotton in the laboratories with modern equipment.

In the celebration on the occasion of the launched cotton harvesting took part the heads of the velayat and etrap khakimliks, daykhan associations, as well as the representatives of the public organizations, scientists-agrarians, experienced agronomists, combiners, drivers and tenants - cotton growers.

The elders offered a prayer to the Almighty for prosperity of Fatherland, welfare of the leader of the nation Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov and all Turkmen people, giving blessing to the start of cotton-picking campaign with words «Harmanyňyza bereket!» (“Have a heavy crop!”).

Then the trucks and tractors with trailers dressed out with the State flags, loaded to the top with “white gold”, started for the place of the ceremonial receive of new crop.

The exhibition was organized of the agricultural machinery and goods produced by the agro-industrial complex. The vivid concert programs prepared the artists and dancing – folk groups of the velayat.
