President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov received Deputy Chairman of the Government of the Russian Federation, Co-chairman of the Intergovernmental Turkmen-Russian Commission on Economic Cooperation Alexei Overchuk, who arrived in Ashgabat on a working visit, leading the representative delegation of the friendly country.

Expressing gratitude for the opportunity of personal meeting and the cordial welcome, the guest conveyed warm greetings to the President of Turkmenistan from Prime Minister of the Russian Federation Mikhail Mishustin, who addressed the wishes of peace and prosperity to the Turkmen leader and, in his person, the entire people of Turkmenistan. Taking this opportunity, A. Overchuk congratulated the President of Turkmenistan on the 30th anniversary of the independence of Turkmenistan, which was celebrated recently, and highlighted the impressive successes of the country achieved under the wise and far-sighted leadership of President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov on the path of sovereign development.

The parties expressed mutual interest in enhancing interstate relations in the cultural and humanitarian sphere, including in the field of science and education. It was noted that there is a significant potential for expanding fruitful contacts in the field of sports.

During the meeting, special emphasis was placed on partnership in the fight against coronavirus infection, including the exchange of experience between specialized structures.

Upon completion of the meeting, the RF Deputy Prime Minister once again expressed deep gratitude to the President of Turkmenistan for his special attention to the promotion of mutually beneficial interstate long-term cooperation. It was noted that with the name of President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov Russia associated a very positive and responsible stage in relations between the two countries, open to a trusting and mutually respectful dialogue.
