Today President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov received the newly appointed Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Armenia to Turkmenistan Ruben Kharazyan, who presented his credentials to the head of state.

Expressing his sincere gratitude for the dedicated time, the diplomat conveyed to the leader of the nation cordial greetings from the President of the Republic of Armenia Armen Sarkissian, who addressed his best wishes to the entire Turkmen people. The ambassador emphasized that it is a great honor for him to represent his country in Turkmenistan, with which Armenia is linked by long-standing relations of friendship and mutually beneficial cooperation, which have acquired new content in recent years. At the same time, the invariable interest in further development of fruitful partnership with Turkmenistan, pursuing a constructive foreign policy aimed at strengthening the foundations of peace, stability and prosperity on a regional and global scale, was confirmed.

Having conveyed warm greetings in return to the top leadership of the friendly country, the head of state congratulated the diplomat on his appointment to a responsible post and wished him success in his work in the field of further strengthening the traditional Turkmen-Armenian dialogue, which is successfully developing both in bilateral and multilateral formats, through authoritative international organizations.. President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov noted with satisfaction that interstate partnership is invariably characterized by a constructive, progressive character, which meets mutual interests.

The priority areas of partnership between two states include trade and economic sphere, fuel and energy sector, transport and communications, agriculture, and tourism.

The leader of the nation and the Ambassador of the Republic of Armenia expressed confidence that the fruitful interstate relations that meet the interests of the two countries and their fraternal peoples will continue to develop steadily, filling with new content.

At the end of the meeting, expressing deep gratitude to President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov for the warm welcome and active attention shown to the issues of Turkmen-Armenian relations, the diplomat assured that, on his part, he would in every way contribute to the further development of the traditional dialogue of friendship and fruitful interstate cooperation.
