Today, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs hosted a briefing dedicated to the results of the visit of President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov to the Republic of Turkey, during which the leader of the nation took part in the VIII Summit of the Turkic Council, as well as to the issues of the preparation to the Summit of Heads of the Member-States of the Economic Cooperation Organization (ECO) under the chairmanship of Turkmenistan, which is due to be held in Ashgabat on November 28^th.

The briefing was attended by heads and representatives of the local media and journalists accredited in Turkmenistan. Representatives of foreign mass media from Azerbaijan, Austria, Afghanistan, Belgium, Great Britain, India, United Arab Emirates, France, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Malaysia, Pakistan, Russia, Romania, Turkey, Uzbekistan and Ukraine participated in the event via video conferencing.

During the briefing, the key points of the speech of the leader of the nation at the Summit of the Turkic Council were highlighted and the special importance of Turkmenistan's accession to this Organization as an observer that opens up wide opportunities for joint work in such fields as economy, trade, investment, ecology, science, education and other promising areas was discussed.

The media representatives were also informed about the preparatory works to the 15th Summit of Heads of the Member-States of the Economic Cooperation Organization . As noted, within the framework of the main events, a Meeting of the Council the Ministers of Foreign Affairs, as well as a Business forum of the ECO member- countries will be held.
