President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov met President of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan Arif Alvi who arrived in our country for participation in the XV Summit of the Economic Cooperation Organization at the International airport of the capital on November 27.

Heads of two countries were photographed against the background of National flags of Turkmenistan and the Islamic Republic of Pakistan.

Having expressed his sincere gratitude for the accorded hearty welcome, President Arif Alvi underlined that Pakistan highly appreciates the policy of openness and good neighbourhood of Turkmenistan based on principles of positive neutrality and from its part, henceforth intends to promote consolidation of traditionally friendly interstate dialogue, which in recent years has found new dynamics and content.

The head of the Turkmen state, having thanked the honoured guest for participation in the present Summit, said that our country considers Pakistan as its key partner in the context of enhancement of cooperation with the countries of South Asia.

in this connection, the fruitful character of the Turkmen-Pakistan relations which successfully develop both in bilateral, and in multilateral formats, within the limits of the authoritative international organisations and structures, first of all, the United Nations Organization, the Economic Cooperation Organization, the Organization of Islamic Cooperation and others was marked.

President Arif Alvi noted an exclusive urgency of important international initiatives put forward by President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov aimed at creation of a strong basis for sustainable peace in the third millennium.

Commenting with satisfaction a prompt dynamics of bilateral partnership, interlocutors were unanimous in their opinion that trustful character of interstate relations allows our countries to study actively new directions of interaction in different areas, including trade and economic, fuel and energy, building, agricultural and other spheres.

At the end of the meeting, having expressed confidence that traditionally friendly Turkmen-Pakistan relations will develop comprehensively henceforth, Presidents Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov and Arif Alvi conveyed to peoples of both countries their sincere wishes of peace, well-being and prosperity.

After performance of hymns of two states, the head of Pakistan left for the residence designated for him.
