President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov received PJSC Lukoil President and CEO Vagit Alekperov.

Meeting participants exchanged views on the important areas and prospects of bilateral cooperation, broad preconditions for the development of which are determined by the comprehensive energy strategy implemented by our country. Among its priority vectors are the stimulation of investment activity, the implementation of large infrastructure projects jointly with foreign partners, and the diversification of routes for the export of Turkmen energy resources to the world market.

Particular attention was paid to the development of hydrocarbon resources of the Caspian region, where the establishment of coordinated international cooperation based on legal norms and respect for each other's interests stand as the key factor.

Familiarizing President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov with the current activities of PJSC Lukoil in our country and presentingproposals for the promotion of new joint projects in the Caspian Sea, Vagit Alekperov expressed deep gratitude to the President of Turkmenistan for the trust, confirming the intention of Russian partners to take an active part in large-scale industry programmes carried out in Turkmenistan.

PJSC Lukoil President and CEO assured that the company would continue to take a responsible approach to fulfilling its obligations.

At the end of the meeting, President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov and PJSC Lukoil President and CEO Vagit Alekperov exchanged good wishes, expressing confidence in the successful continuation of bilateral cooperation on a mutually beneficial long-term basis.
