Today, a regular meeting of the Central Commission for holding elections and referenda in Turkmenistan was held in the capital, which was attended by the head and members of the Central Election Commission, as well as representatives of the media.

The issue of registration of applicants for the post of the President of Turkmenistan nominated by the initiative groups from the city of Ashgabat and the Dashoguz velayat was put on the agenda.

During the meetings held the day before in the capital and in the northern region of the country, respectable professional and organizational skills, personal qualities of candidates were noted, which contributed to the decision to run them for the highest state post.

According to the current national legislation, the vice-rector for scientific work of the Turkmen State Institute of Physical Culture and Sports, candidate of pedagogical sciences Hydyr Nunnaev and the chairman of the committee of the Democratic Party of Turkmenistan of the S. Turkmenbashi etrap of the Dashoguz velayat Maksat Odeshov were registered as candidates for the post of President of Turkmenistan, who were awarded the relevant certificates.

Preparations for the most important social and political campaign - the presidential elections in Turkmenistan scheduled for March 12 - continue.

After completion of the procedures for nomination and registration of candidates, its next stage is the meetings that began the day before with voters running for the highest state post. All applicants are guaranteed equal opportunities for election campaigning.

The broad alternative basis of the current campaign, which is taking place in an atmosphere of openness and transparency, and its compliance with generally accepted international norms, clearly demonstrates the commitment of Turkmenistan to truly democratic principles of development, which is an integral factor in the further progress of the country and the well-being of the people.
