Today, the telephone conversation between President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov and President of the Republic of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev has taken place.

The head of Kazakhstan heartily congratulated the leader of the nation on the successful presidential elections held in the country, which demonstrated invariability of the course of Turkmenistan towards progressive development and democratization of society.

The head of Kazakhstan noted that under the leadership of President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov Turkmenistan has recently changed beyond recognition and its international authority has significantly grown. As was underlined, Kazakhstan always supports creative initiatives of the Turkmen side and is sincerely glad for successes of the brotherly people.

Having expressed his sincere acknowledgement to his Kazakh colleague for congratulations and appreciation of the elections, the head of the state in his turn, thanked the Kazakh side for an active participation in the elections as an observer and facilitation in organization of the voting of citizens of Turkmenistan in the territory of Kazakhstan.

Having informed that by the outcome of elections, announced today by the Central elections committee of the country, Serdar Berdimuhamedov has become new President of Turkmenistan, the Turkmen leader noted that from this moment, he intends to continue actively his political work already as Chairman of the Khalk Maslakhaty of the Milli Gengesh of Turkmenistan.

Having stated with satisfaction fruitfulness of personal contacts for many years and joint work in the course of recent years to expand interstate cooperation, the head of Turkmenistan expressed confidence that the constructive Turkmen-Kazakh dialogue will be further strengthen stably and will be replenished with the new content for the benefit of two brotherly peoples.

Further, the leader of the nation passed the receiver to newly elected President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov.

President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev having confirmed intention of his country for further development of multilateral Turkmen-Kazakh interaction, sincerely congratulated the newly elected President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov with the victory in the presidential elections and wished him sound health and great successes in his responsible activity at the state post.

In his turn, the newly elected head of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov having expressed sincere acknowledgment for congratulations and kind wishes, stated his readiness to continue the present progressive foreign policy in which an important role is attached to development of mutually beneficial multilateral partnership with brotherly Kazakhstan.
