Today, Chairman of the Halk Maslakhaty Milli Gengesha, Honorary Elder of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov received Chairman of the Council of Elders of the Organization of Turkic States (OTG) Binali Yildirim.

Congratulating on a significant event in the life of the country - the successful holding of the elections of the President of Turkmenistan, as well as on the celebrations on the occasion of the International Day of Novruz, the guest wished the Chairman of the Halk Maslakhaty Milli Gengesh Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov success in his responsible post.

Noting that he was again glad to see the head of an authoritative international Organization, the leader of the nation Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov thanked for the congratulations and good wishes. As was emphasized, Turkmenistan is committed to effective partnerships with international organizations and is taking the necessary measures for their comprehensive development.

During the meeting, it was stated that the peoples of the Turkic states and the Turkmen people are connected by historical roots that go back thousands of years, a commonality of spiritual and cultural values. All this is a reliable foundation for expanding and strengthening the constructive interaction between Turkmenistan and Turkic-speaking countries in the political, diplomatic, trade, economic, cultural and humanitarian fields.

Chairman of the Halk Maslakhaty Milli Gengesha noted that active and effective participation in the activities of this Organization, including in the Council of Elders, is defined as an important direction.

At the meeting, it was emphasized that our country is interested in the development of inter-parliamentary relations with the Turkic-speaking states across their entire spectrum, as well as in active participation in the activities of specialized structures operating in this area.

At the end of the meeting, the Chairman of the Council of Elders of the Organization of Turkic States, Binali Yildirim, expressed sincere gratitude to the Chairman of the Halk Maslakhaty Milli Gengesh for his time and constructive negotiations, and once again wished him great success in his work.
