Winners and prize-winners of the tournament of Open Cup on kabaddi among Juniors of Balkan velayat were determined. The event was dedicated to the 25th anniversary of Turkmenistan’s Independence. The grand prize was won by the hosts, “Bars” team, that confidently beat in the final the athletes from Ashgabat with a score of 76:19. Athletes involved in kabaddi, a sport included in the program of Asian Games –2017, tried out themselves before the Turkmenistan Cup that is planned to be held in Ashgabat in November. In the deciding match hosts were in the lead. After the break, trainees of Sapardurdy Rahmanberdiyev finally gained victory over their opponents. “Bars”s victory was greatly contributed by 14-years-old Guvanch Atanepesov, who earned over a half of scored points. Athletes from Ashgabat, who are trained by Turkmenistan’s merited coach Orif Buharakov, came second, while another team from Gumdag finished third.
