Building the potential of bilateral inter-parliamentary relations in strengthening fruitful relations between the two neighboring states was discussed at the meeting of the Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty of the Milli Gengesh of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov with the Minister of Economy of the Republic of Azerbaijan Jabbarov Mikayil Chingiz oglu held today.

The interlocutors noted with satisfaction that in recent years the Turkmen-Azerbaijani partnership has received a powerful impetus for development in various fields, including political, economic, cultural, humanitarian and other spheres.

As noted, our countries have long been united by friendly good-neighborly ties, which is due to the historical, cultural and spiritual community of the two peoples that has developed over the centuries, and in the modern epoch these relations are acquiring a new quality and content. “We highly appreciate the achieved level of bilateral cooperation and consider it as the basis for the development of relations in the long term,” Hero-Arkadag emphasized.

The interlocutors stated that there is great potential for further expansion and strengthening of inter-parliamentary ties, intensification of contacts between the legislative bodies of the two countries, as well as the exchange of experience through mutual consultations.

Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty of the Milli Gengesh and the Minister of Economy of the Republic of Azerbaijan expressed confidence that cooperation in the legal sphere will serve as an important tool for strengthening Turkmen-Azerbaijani relations in trade, economic and other areas of multidimensional cooperation, strengthening friendship and good neighborliness of the two fraternal peoples.
