Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty of the Milli Gengesh of Turkmenistan, Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, called for the creation of conditions for achieving a national consensus in Afghanistan. He stated this on Friday, speaking at the Summit of the Organization of Turkic States (OTS), which opened in Samarkand.

According to Hero-Arkadag, the Afghan issue is an integral part of cooperation in the field of regional security.

The Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty of the Milli Gengesh of Turkmenistan emphasized that some member countries of the OTS are neighbors of Afghanistan, have a special historical connection with it, legitimate interests, and therefore, to a certain extent, are also responsible for the events taking place in this country.

«This means that it is necessary to step up efforts aimed at stabilizing the situation in Afghanistan and creating conditions for achieving a national consensus through the provision of economic and humanitarian assistance to the Afghan people», –declared Hero-Arkadag.
