128 athletes (86 men and 42 women) from Ahal, Dashoguz, Lebap, Mary velayats and the capital brought together the tennis championship of Turkmenistan, which ended on the courts of the «Ashgabat» stadium.

Winners were determined in singles and doubles.

In the men's final, Yuriy Rogusskiy defeated Gurbanberdi Gurbanberdiyev in two sets - 6:4, 6:4, proving that he rightfully bears the title of the first racket of Turkmenistan. As a result, Y. Rogusskiy became a 5-time champion of the country. Meylis Orazmuhammedov rounded out the top three winners by beating Hajymyrat Charyyev in the match for 3rd place - 6:2, 6:3.

In the women's tournament, a real sensation was made by 12-year-old Ilima Guseynova, who won in the final over Aisha Bikbulatova, a pupil of Jennet Hallyyeva - 6:2, 7:5. It is noteworthy that last month this talented tennis player won the national championship among 12-year-old and 14-year-old athletes. And now for the first time she became the champion of Turkmenistan among women, setting a national record at such a young age.

Ilima Guseynova is improving her sports skills under the guidance of the head coach of the national team of Turkmenistan and the «Ashgabat» club Mirali Gasanov. In the coming days, she will begin preparations for the upcoming Asian Championship (U-14) in January 2023, the venue of which will be determined in the coming days.

Maral Ahmedova, a student of the Turkmen State Institute of Physical Culture and Sports, won the bronze medal at the national championship, beating Ksenia Zubkova in the match for 3rd place - 6:2 6:3.

Yuriy Rogusskiy and Altymyrat Gurbanov excelled in the men's doubles, having won in the final over Meylis Orazmuhammedov and Hajymyrat Charyyev - 6:4, 4:6, 10:8 in a super tie-break.

In the women's doubles, Aisha Bikbulatova and Rojan Garajayeva became the best, having won in the finals Bahar Toymyradova and Sulgun Hemrayeva - 6:4, 6:2.
