The Chairman of the Halk Maslakhaty, Arkadag – the National Leader of the Turkmen people Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov paid special attention to the issues of rational use of the water of the Karakum River and other sources, ensuring normal water flow in the riverbed, strengthening the banks of rivers and channels during his working trip to the outskirts of Ashgabat today.

During the trip, the Hero-Arkadag stopped at a bridge located on the 798th kilometer of the Karakum River. Arkadag was welcomed here by Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers, Minister of Foreign Affairs R.Meredov, Chairman of the State Committee for the Construction of the Administrative Center of Akhal velayat D.Orazov, and the khyakims of the cities of Arkadag Sh.Durdylyev and Ashgabat R.Gandymov, as well as the heads of Altcom A.Tislenko and Interbudmontazh V.Petruk and other representatives.

Chairman of the Halk Maslakhaty of Turkmenistan said that at present the country attaches great importance to the issues of rational use of water resources, the widespread introduction of new irrigation methods in order to increase land productivity, and strengthen the soil. At the same time, the use of advanced technologies and the consistent strengthening of environmental well-being in the country are identified as the most important tasks.

Highlighting that unflagging attention is paid to maintaining internal reservoirs in proper condition, cleaning them from silt, ensuring a uniform watercourse, Hero-Arkadag noted the expediency of using the best practices of our foreign partners in solving these issues.

The head of the Altcom company, who is entrusted with the construction of a bridge across the Garabogaz Bay, spoke about the progress of work currently being carried out at the facility, and the head of the Interbudmontazh construction association informed about the laying of sewer and drainage systems in the country. Noting that it is a great honor for them to take part in the implementation of projects in Turkmenistan, a recognized reliable partner in the world, where favorable conditions have been created for the effective work of foreign companies, they expressed their readiness to effectively use the experience accumulated in this direction in their work.

Chairman of the Halk Maslakhaty of Turkmenistan focused on the importance of ensuring a uniform water flow in all rivers and channels of the country, including the Karakum River. It is necessary to approach this work with special responsibility in the winter. Planting seedlings on the shores will not only strengthen their shores, but also improve the ecological situation in the country.

Emphasizing the need for a responsible approach to solving issues of water resources use on the base of the latest scientific achievements, Arkadag addressed a number of specific recommendations to the relevant managers.

Hero-Arkadag, noting that as a result of the continuing severe frosts, ice layers formed on the Karakum River and other reservoirs, spoke about the need for a responsible approach to ensuring a uniform flow of water in riverbeds and channels and strengthening their banks and wished everyone a successful solution of the tasks set.
