The President of Turkmenistan spoke in Jeddah for increasing cooperation in transport and energy sectors

President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov, speaking at the Summit "Central Asia — Cooperation Council of the Arab States of the Gulf", called for increasing cooperation in transport and energy sectors.

According to the Head of state, in order to increase cooperation in these areas, it is important to form new transport and transit corridors, stable and reliable logistics infrastructure, the primary goal of which is to unite the regions of Central Asia and the Arab states of the Gulf.

"In order to coordinate efforts in the transport sector, we propose to establish a Transport Committee of the countries of the "Central Asia and GCC" format," the President of Turkmenistan noted.

The head of state also emphasized that great importance is attached to energy sector, and the countries, participating in the Summit, have rich sources of energy carriers, fuel and energy resources and powerful production facilities for their processing.

"We propose to form a Joint Working Group on energy, whose function will be to analyze the potential of joint activities in the energy sector and provide consultations," President Serdar Berdimuhamedov said.
