The first trilateral summit of the Presidents of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov, Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon and Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev began its work at the «Arkadag» Hotel in Ashgabat.

This is the first high-level meeting in such a format, and therefore it can rightly be called historical. Having written a new important chapter in the chronicle of traditionally friendly, good-neighbourly interstate relations, the Ashgabat Summit is called upon to lay the foundation for the further development of mutually beneficial multifaceted cooperation that meets the interests of the countries participating in the summit and the region as a whole.

During the meeting, the heads of state will discuss issues of expanding partnership in the political, diplomatic, trade, economic, cultural and humanitarian spheres. Also, the presidents of the three states will exchange views on the development of cooperation on international and regional platforms.
