President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov arrived in Tashkent on a working visit to participate in the 16th meeting of the Economic Cooperation Organization (ECO).

At the Islam Karimov International Airport in the Uzbek capital, the head of state was met by officials of Uzbekistan and members of the government delegation of Turkmenistan.

During the working visit, the President of Turkmenistan will meet with his Uzbek counterpart Shavkat Mirziyoyev, and will also speak at the 16th meeting of the Economic Cooperation Organization, voicing Ashgabat’s vision for the development of effective economic interaction in the Organization’s space.

Currently, Turkmenistan chairs the (ECO). The previous, 15th Summit of this Organization was held in Ashgabat on the 28th of November, 2021. During the period of chairmanship, a corresponding Concept was developed, aimed at enhancing mutually beneficial partnership in the (ECO) space in the trade, economic, investment, transport, logistics, energy spheres, as well as in the cultural and humanitarian field. As a result of the 15th Summit of the Economic Cooperation Organization, the Final Document was adopted - the Ashgabat Consensus for Action.
