Annual contest gathers young popular singers, beginners and those who wish to try themselves performing for the public. The qualifying competitions starts in the velayats. The idea of the contest is not just attract the singers famous to the public but also to reveal new original talents. Preliminary round gathered around hundred fifty contesters. After, young singers, who demonstrated vocal and artistic skills, performed at the «Türkmen owazy» music TV and radio channel and TV viewers and radio listeners was able to support favourite artist by SMS voting. Ten finalists were defined by the results of the voting. And now they faced the responsible moment where they had to prove the expectations of the auditory and demonstrate all their skills performing at decorated hall of the Conference Palace near New Year tree. Famous popular soloists, masters of music stage of Turkmenistan, cultural workers, artists of theatre, composers and poets as well as winners of previous contests gathered there. The terms of the competitions are that their voices are added to the total voting and total count defines the winner. The competitors sing two songs in the final, where one of them has to be without music accompaniment in order for the audience to assess the voice of the singer and the level of vocal technique. Thus, after final calculations of the voices, Zuleykha Kakayeva was announced as a Grand Prix winner. Leyli Okdirova and Merdan Nurgulyjov took the second and third places accordingly. The competition, which already takes place 8 times, was organized by the Central Council of the Magtumguly Youth Organization of Turkmenistan, the Ministry of Culture and the State Committee for Television, Radio and Cinematography.
