Powerlifting Tournament in Ashgabat is marked by new national records

“Ashgabat” multifunctional sport complex hold Turkmenistan Open Powerlifting championship, which gathered around 100 sportsmen from all regions of the country. Bu the results of the tournament, organized by the State Committee for Sport and by the Powerlifting Federation, initial national team will be formed for participation in 2017 Asian Games. The best results in women category was demonstrated by the participant of Rio – 2016, Master of sport of international class Gulnabat Kadyrova, who made three new national records in weight category until 69 kg. she managed to lift 93 kg in snatch and 113 kg in jerk, having totally made 206 kg exceeding her personal record for 11 kg. The development of her sport skills was proven in the fourth try in jerk, which was not officially registered. In this try, G. Kadyrova managed to lift and hold 115 kg. Another promising Turkmen power lifter Aysoltan Toychiyeva (until 70 kg) also used four tries in jerk. Having 115 kg as registered result, which is a national record, in additional try she improved it for three kilograms, which is absolute result in our country. Total amount of 200 kg in snatch defined new level in this weight category. Tw records were made in the weight category until 63 kg. 17 years old Polina Guryeva was the best there. Silver medallist of 2014 Asian Junior Championship managed to improve her results in jerk (106 kg) and clean and jerk combination (190 kg) as well as fulfilling the requirements of Master of Sport of International Class. The gold of the tournament was also won by Yulduz Jumabayeva (until 48 kg), Byagul Berdiyeva (until 53 kg) and Sangiza Bakhtiyarova (above 75 kg). The performance of Hojamuhammed Toychiyev, who won in above 105 kg category, is worth mentioning. Before the current tournament, he successfully performed in Qatar Grand Prix and Asian Cup, having won two silver and one bronze medals. During the current tournament, H. Toychiyev was the strongest one, having made 400 kg in clean and jerk combination (180 kg in snatch and 220 kg in jerk) Osman Handurdiyev (until 58 kg), Dovlet Gorganov (until 62 kg), rahmet Sultanov (until 69 kg), Rejepbay rejepov (untill 77 kg), Shohrat Hojamyradov (until 85 kg), Izzet Meredov (until 94 kg) and Ovez Ovezov (until 105 kg) also won the gold. Along with the prize-winners of the current competitions, the achievement of Turkmen sportsmen Azat Serdarov, who won the silver in Junior Championship held in Penang (Malaysia) in October of this year, was also recorded during the award ceremony. On behalf of national Powerlifting Federation, he and his coach Shatlyk Durdyklychev were awarded with money prizes. Now our athletes will face preparation to Asian Championship, which will be held in Ashgabat in April 2017. Final composition of national team for participation in 2017 Asian Games will be formed by its results.
