The year of 2016 has demonstrated the effectiveness of work of agro-industrial complex of Turkmenistan. Harvested wheat crop amounted to 1 million 604.5 thousand tons, cotton delivery obligations have been fulfilled in the amount of 1 million 71 thousand tons. In comparison with 2015, amount of harvested rice has almost doubled, potatoes – increased by more than 30 percent, melons –by 13.6 percent. Steady increase in the number of livestock provided for increase in the production of meat. The growth of productive capacities in the AIC comes amid improving the quality of life of rural population. As part of a national program, in 2016 the regions have constructed more than 1.2 million square meters of housing, about a thousand kilometers of paved utilities, more than 3.6 thousand kilometers of communication systems. The construction of high-comfort housing with a total area of 808,000 square meters continues.
