On October 11, 2024, the National Leader of Turkmen people, Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov met with the President of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan Asif Ali Zardari, who arrived in our country on a working visit.

Having warmly welcomed the distinguished guest, the National Leader of Turkmen people congratulated him on being awarded the jubilee medal «Magtymguly Pyragynyň 300 ýyllygyna» and expressed confidence that the current visit of the President of Pakistan will be another step in taking bilateral relations to a new level, taking into account the existing vast potential.

President Asif Ali Zardari expressed gratitude for the hospitality on Turkmen land and congratulations, as well as noted that Pakistan attaches great importance to cooperation with Turkmenistan, which, relying on the legitimate status of neutrality, implements a foreign policy in the interests of peace and stability in the region.

As noted during the meeting, relations between two countries are based on the principles of friendship, brotherhood and equality, and the common historical roots, cultural and spiritual-moral values of peoples serve as the basis for their consistent expansion.

Interstate cooperation is successfully developing both in bilateral and multilateral formats, including within the UN and other reputable international and regional organizations, each other’s initiatives aimed at strengthening peace and stability are supported. In this regard, the distinguished guest noted the importance of the Resolution adopted by the UN General Assembly at the proposal of Turkmenistan on the proclamation of 2025 as the International Year of Peace and Trust.

Also during the meeting, an interested exchange of views took place on other important issues on the bilateral agenda.

In conclusion, the National Leader of Turkmen people, Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov and President of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan Asif Ali Zardari wished each other good health and happiness, and peace and prosperity to the friendly peoples of the two countries.
