Today, the National Leader of the Turkmen people, Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov left for a working visit to Hungary to participate at the invitation of the Chairman of the Council of Elders of the Organisation of Turkic States Binali Yildirim in the 16th meeting of the Council of the United Territories of Turkmenistan as a member of the Council of Elders and an honourary guest. 

Hero-Arkadag was seen off at the capital's International Airport by officials.

Implementing a foreign policy strategy based on the principles of positive neutrality and peacefulness, Turkmenistan steadily follows the course of building up a constructive dialogue with all interested parties, including comprehensive interaction within the framework of authoritative international and regional structures. In this regard, the current visit of the National Leader of the Turkmen people to Budapest and participation in the regular meeting of the Council of Elders of the Organisation of Turkic States is a significant step towards strengthening multifaceted relations based on the principles of good neighborliness and mutual understanding and fruitful cooperation with the UTG and member states of the Organisation. 

Speaking about bilateral contacts between Turkmenistan and Hungary, it should be noted that since the establishment of diplomatic relations, the interstate partnership, built on a parity and mutual respect, has been consistently strengthened. Particular importance is attached to contacts at the highest and government levels, as evidenced by the results of the official visits of the President of Hungary to Turkmenistan in 2011 and the Prime Minister of the friendly country to Ashgabat in 2023, as well as the official visit of Hero Arkadag Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov to Hungary in 2014 and the working visit of President Serdar Berdimuhamedov to Budapest in 2023. 

Having flown to Budapest, the Hero Arkadag's airliner landed at the capital's Ferenc Liszt International Airport. Here, the Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov was met by officials.
